Frequently Asked Questions

How long does shipping take?

Orders ship within 24-48 hours from our US fulfillment partner. Domestic standard is 4-7 business days. International is 8-14. You get tracking when the package leaves our hands — not a "label created" placeholder that sits for a week.

Is the brass really solid?

Yes. CuZn37 alloy, machined or cast as a single piece. A magnet will not stick to it. If you ever receive a piece from us that a magnet sticks to, message us and we'll replace it and refund — that means we made an error in the production batch.

Will the brass darken?

That's the point. Aged brass develops a warm amber patina over 3-6 months of pocket wear. If you prefer it bright forever, you can polish it with Brasso once a month. We don't recommend coating it (the coating peels and looks worse than a patina ever would).

Is the leather real?

Full-grain vegetable-tanned, 3-4mm. Italian Buttero-style tanning. You'll smell leather when you open the package — that's tannin. It'll darken with use to a richer tone. We don't sell PU, split-grain, or "bonded" leather under any spec.

What if my piece arrives broken?

Message us at hello@forgeandcarry.com with a photo within 7 days. We replace it or refund — your call. No return required for damaged items.

Can I return if I change my mind?

30 days from delivery, no questions. Item must be unworn (no scratches, no scuffs). US returns are free for orders over $24.90, otherwise return shipping is on you.

Do you do engravable?

Yes — the Brass Disc Tag is shipped raw and engravable. You can do it at home with a Dremel or take it to any metal shop. The disc is 2mm thick, so engravings go deep and look great even after years.

Will the carabiners hold weight?

Yes — 5kg dead weight on the 304 stainless wire-gate carabiners. This is more than enough for any EDC use. Not rated for climbing — these are pocket utility, not safety gear.

Why no plastic packaging?

Because plastic packaging on a product meant to last decades is dumb. Every piece ships in a small cotton or canvas pouch (depending on the SKU). Sets ship in branded canvas pouches with leather tags. Recyclable cardboard outer box. That's it.

International shipping?

Yes — 8-14 business days. Cost is calculated at checkout based on weight. Buyer covers any customs duty (usually small for items under $50, but varies by country).
